Sphinx has a long and successful track record of convening conferences about women in the arts, with the Glass Ceiling conferences beginning in 1991 at the ICA and subsequently for ten years at the National Theatre. 

The aims of these meetings were to bring professional women together to share artistic experiences and be inspired by leading practitioners.  For many they served as an opportunity to touch base with contemporary currents of feminist thinking; an extended think tank.
